Since 2024 the appointment of a Curator in Residence is a crucial part of the international literature festival berlin. An internationally staffed selection committee chooses a literary figure to collaborate closely with the festival team for one year. This curator designs part of the program and identifies a central theme for that year’s edition.
For the next festival edition in 2026, Jeet Thayil, Indian poet, novelist, and librettist, as well as a musician and literary editor has been named Curator in Residence.
As part of the 26th ilb program, Jeet Thayil will curate events and invite international authors who will participate in events.
