Sarnath Banerjee: Absolute Jafar

Reading

Graphic Novel Day

Of sultans, djinns, and street food: Every night, Brighu tells his son Jafar stories of a home that no longer exists. His love for Jafar’s mother survived intercultural differences and the nationalisms conjured up between India and Pakistan yet ultimately did not endure. Now Jafar is growing up with his father in Berlin. Confronted with bureaucracy and borders, both try to keep their treasured memories alive for the future.

The Curator in Residence Program is made possible by the LOTTO-Stiftung Berlin.
