When?

The 24th international literature festival berlin (ilb) will take place from September 5 to 18, 2024. Within this period, the Program will take place from September 5 to 14, the Young Program from September 9 to 18, 2024.

Where?

The main venue of the 24th international literature festival berlin is the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. There, the following stages will be in use: Große Bühne (Main Stage), Seitenbühne (Side Stage), Hinterbühne (Back Stage), the Foyer, as well as the Upper Foyer (Bornemann Bar), and Kassenhalle, which will become our »Festival Kitchen« for the duration of the festival. You will find the venue of each event from our program site or from our program booklet.

Furthermore, selected events will take place in the following venues throughout the city: Dokumentationszentrum Flucht, Vertreibung, Versöhnung, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung e.V., JVA des offenen Vollzugs Berlin Kisselnallee.

From September 16 to 18, the main venue for the Young Program is silent green Kulturquartier.

Tickets

Tickets will be available via the webshop of Berliner Festspiele starting July 3, 2024. Payment is by credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) or via PayPal. Please print out your ticket yourself or use the Mobile Ticket. Alternatively, we also offer postal delivery. Unfortunately, no changes or returns are possible once payment has been completed.

Professionals

Writers, publishers and those working in the literary sector have the opportunity to apply for accreditation for reduced-price tickets.

To receive accreditation, you must be currently working professionally in the field of literature. You will receive a discount code via email which you can use to book your tickets online. Subject to availability, you will be able to buy one ticket per event at the reduced price.

Reduced Price Tickets

Reduced price tickets are available in advance online and at the daytime box office at Gropius Bau, as well as from the evening box offices. Those eligible for reductions are: persons with a disability of 50% or above, schoolchildren, apprentices, and students up to the age of 27, plus those engaged in [Federal] Voluntary Service, pensioners and recipients of unemployment benefits. Accompanying persons of visitors with disabilities receive free admission to all events.

Box Offices

The box office opens at all venues one hour before the start of the event.

You can also purchase all tickets for the ilb at the box office in the Gropius Bau.

Is there a Festival Pass?

There is no festival pass this year. You can purchase a Day Pass for the Graphic Novel Day on September 7, 2024.

Packages and ilb-Ticket PLUS

This one is for the festival lovers: Our ticket packages offer 20% off if you purchase 10 tickets and 30% off 20 tickets. Be quick! With our Early Bird Tickets, you can save 2 Euro for every regular priced ticket and 1 Euro for every reduced ticket. This offer is valid until July 31, 2024.

Treat yourself to something special! Receive exclusive insights behind the scenes by purchasing a ticket or ticket package plus a oneoff fee of €150 (reduced: €100): Meet the Festival Director and the Curator in Residence for a background conversation, enjoy our festival lunch, and receive selected merchandise products. The ticket does not entitle the holder to attend paid events.
