When?

The 26th International Literature Festival Berlin (ILB) will take place from September 3 to 16, 2026. Within this period, the Program will take place from September 3 to 12, the Young Program from September 6 to 16, 2026.

Where?

The main venue of the 26th International Literature Festival Berlin is the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. There, the following stages will be in use: Große Bühne (Main Stage), Seitenbühne (Side Stage), Studiobühne (Studio stage), the Foyer, as well as the Upper Foyer (Bornemann Bar), and Kassenhalle, which will become our »Festival Kitchen« for the duration of the festival. You will find the venue of each event from our program site or from our program booklet.

Furthermore, selected events will take place in the following venues throughout the city: Dokumentationszentrum Flucht, Vertreibung, Versöhnung and JVA des Offenen Vollzuges Niederneuendorfer Allee.

Tickets

Tickets will be available via the webshop of Berliner Festspiele starting July 2026. Payment is by credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) or via PayPal. Please print out your ticket yourself or use the Mobile Ticket. Alternatively, we also offer postal delivery. Unfortunately, no changes or returns are possible once payment has been completed.

Professionals

Writers, publishers and those working in the literary sector have the opportunity to apply for accreditation for reduced-price tickets.

To receive accreditation, you must be currently working professionally in the field of literature. You will receive a discount code via email which you can use to book your tickets online. Subject to availability, you will be able to buy one ticket per event at the reduced price.

Reduced Price Tickets

Reduced price tickets are available in advance online and at the daytime box office at Gropius Bau, as well as from the evening box offices. Those eligible for reductions are: persons with a disability of 50% or above, schoolchildren, apprentices, and students up to the age of 27, plus those engaged in [Federal] Voluntary Service, pensioners and recipients of unemployment benefits. Accompanying persons of visitors with disabilities receive free admission to all events.

Box Offices

The box office opens at all venues one hour before the start of the event.

You can also purchase all tickets for the ilb at the box office in the Gropius Bau.

Is there a Festival Pass?

Festival Pass holders have access to all events of the festival. There is no guarantee to admission for sold-out events. [Please be at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start of the event.] The following exceptions apply: For the event »Satzwechsel« with Han Kang at Kammermusiksaal, Berliner Philharmonie Festival Pass holders need to purchase a regular ticket.
