Three new European novels stage the act of slaughter: as ecological dystopia, as a reckoning with the meat industry, as an exploration of sensual awakening. Munir Hachemi, Mariia Niskavaara, and Manik Sarkar discuss with their German translators the literariness of a craft in which the living body meets the dead and offer insights into the transformative power of the art of translation.
