Matthias Strobel is a translator. For more than 25 years, he has translated from Spanish and English, including Alfredo Bryce Echenique, José María Arguedas and Guillermo Arriaga, as well as «Cosas vivas» (Ger. «Lebendige Dinge») by Munir Hachemi. In 2014, he received the European Translator Prize Offenburg (Förderpreis), and in 2017 he was a finalist for the International Literature Prize. Matthias Strobel lives in Berlin.
