Shitstorms, fake profiles, deepfakes: digital violence against women is on the rise, and is taking increasingly more sophisticated forms. How can this subject be grasped through writing, whether literally or legally? Thea Mengeler’s novel «Öffentlicher Nahverkehr» (Public Transport), approaches it through the eyes of a protagonist who rides the bus in search of ways to come to terms with her experiences. The lawyer Asha Hedayati represents women affected by violence and writes about misogyny and its legal dimensions.
