Thea Mengeler is a writer and copywriter. She grew up in Krefeld and studied creative writing and communication design in Hildesheim, Kiel, and Istanbul. In 2022 her debut novel «connect» was published by Leykam, followed in 2024 by her second novel »Nach den Fähren« (tr. After the Ferries) from Wallstein. The latter was named ›Book of the Month‹ on NDR. In 2026, «Öffentlicher Nahverkehr» (tr. Public Transport), a novel about sexualized violence online, will be published. She has received the Hotlist Prize and the Rotahorn Literary Prize and was a writer in residence at Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier. Thea Mengeler lives as a freelance writer in Hanover.
