The idyllic life of three children who live with their parents in a remote mountain valley comes to an abrupt end when their father finds work in the city. With a heavy heart, the siblings have to say goodbye to their forests and mountain lakes, their beloved village and their friends. In impressively detailed woodcuts, the autobiographical book tells of the simultaneity of loss, melancholy, anticipation and excitement that accompany every new beginning.
