Light and Thread
Two art forms, one language: Han Kang makes her first appearance in Germany since receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature. As part of «Satzwechsel», the new collaboration between the ILB and the Berliner Philharmoniker, she presents her new essay collection «Light and Thread» (Translation: Maya West, e. yaewon and Paige Aniyah Morris). A rediscovered poem serves as the starting point for an inquiry into the world, its beauty and its terror, and the search for literature’s unifying power. In dialogue with chamber music selected jointly by author and musicians, a resonant space emerges in which that search continues to reverberate.
