Regarding the culture of public debate in Germany
Where is the border between opinions and matters of the law? In 2025, legal scholar Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf found herself unwillingly thrust into the public eye when she was nominated for a seat on the Federal Constitutional Court. Her handling of socio-political questions placed her at the center of debates that political scientist Julia Reuschenbach has described as defective.
