Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf is a legal scholar and holds the Chair of Public Law at the University of Potsdam, where her research focuses on constitutional law, social law, and education law. In 2025, she withdrew her SPD-backed candidacy for the Federal Constitutional Court after failing to secure sufficient support within the CDU and CSU parliamentary groups.
