Eymard Toledo is a Brazilian-German illustrator and author of children’s books. She studied fine arts at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and product design at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin). Her books have been published internationally and have received numerous awards. Her very first book, »Bené, schneller als das schnellste Huhn« (2013), was recognized by the Stiftung Buchkunst as one of the most beautiful German books of 2014 and received the Peter Pan Award in 2020. For her picture books, she works with materials that would otherwise end up in the trash. Eymard Toledo lives in Amsterdam.
