Reading with picture-book-cinema and live-illustration
Naná lives on the banks of the Amazon. One day, a canoe carrying many people reaches her village, steered by a boy she soon befriends – Kayabu. She quickly learns that Kayabu and his community have fled devastating forest fires. In calm, quiet language and striking cut-paper collage illustrations, this picture book tells the story of a friendship while subtly addressing the threat faced by Indigenous communities through the ongoing destruction of the rainforest.
