This year’s appointment of Helon Habila is the first time an international curator in residence has been selected for the festival. This means that the ›international‹, as inscribed in the festival title, has already shifted to the curation and stands for polyphony, topicality, and thematic authenticity. The festival motto »Strange New World« was developed in close collaboration with the ilb team. How does the selection committee view the festival? What does an international curation make possible? Where are its limits?
