Decolonize Publishing

When books by African authors are first published in Europe or the USA, this has an impact on their publication in Africa: licenses and translations are expensive, which means that books are often not published where they were written – and only reach the African audience to a limited extent. What can the decolonization of the publishing world look like? How can the multilingualism of literature find expression in publishing? Proposed solutions will be discussed in this panel.

With Mkuki Bgoya and Lola Shoneyin.

Hosted by Stefanie Hirsbrunner.

The event is held in English.
