We mourn the sudden death of Khaled Khalifa who passed away on Saturday. The author is regarded as one of the most influential and most important voices of Syria and the Syrian community worldwide. His books were not allowed to be published in Syria. Some of them were translated into German. It is a great honor to have welcomed Khaled Khalifa as a guest at the 22nd ilb last year.
