Atlas of Absence

»There is no state in the world that has more objects from Cameroon in public possession than the Federal Republic of Germany.« This is the conclusion of the »Atlas der Abwesenheit« [tr: Atlas of Absence], a joint project of the TU Berlin and the Université de Dschang, Cameroon. Its mapping of 40,000 entities in German museums represents a significant contribution to the debate surrounding restitution. Project leader Bénédicte Savoy, director of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, Lead Counsel at the International Criminal Court Charles A. Taku, and Andreas Görgen (Secretary-General at the Federal Ministry for Culture and the Media) will discuss the project.

Hosted by sociologist Teresa Koloma Beck.
