In the Presence of Absence: Poems from Palestine

For one hour, Ghayath Almadhoun and friends will read poems by Palestinian authors. Between the readings, there will be short introductions to the poets. Some of them live in the diaspora in North Africa, Europe, or the USA: others are unable to leave Gaza. Their poetry expresses anger and sadness, pain, and longing for peaceful times. »We suffer from an incurable disease called hope«, wrote Mahmoud Darwish.

With Ghayath Almadhoun, Abdalrahman Alqalaq, Charlotte Thießen

Curated by Ghayath Almadhoun

Moderated by Maha El Hissy

The event will be held in Arabic, English and German.
