Postsoviet Cosmopolis – Opening Panel With Yevgenia Belorusets, Susanne Frank, Liubou Kaspiarovich

What does it mean to speak of the »post-Soviet«? And how does a young generation escape the echoes of previous histories? The works of Yevgenia Belorusets, a multidisciplinary and collective writer, take their own and other people’s language as the starting point for a reflection on their own way of life. To kick off the series, Belorusets will exchange ideas with Susanne Frank, Professor of East Slavic Literatures and Cultures at Humboldt University in Berlin, and journalist Liubou Kaspiarovich. How can literature bear witness to processes of identity formation in the tension between Soviet imperialism and Western capitalist ideology?
