A major addition to the international literature festival berlin’s program since 2024 is the appointment of a Curator in Residence. An internationally staffed selection committee chooses a literary figure to collaborate closely with the festival team for one year. This curator designs part of the program and identifies a central theme for that year’s edition.
For the 25th festival edition in 2025, the Mexican-American author Cristina Rivera Garza has been named Curator in Residence.
As part of the 25th ilb program, Cristina Rivera Garza will curate events and invite international authors who will participate in events.
