Paula Fürstenberg is an author of fiction and essays. She studied at the Swiss Literature Institute and Humboldt University. Her debut novel, »Familie der geflügelten Tiger« (tr. Family of the Winged Tigers, 2016) was followed by »Weltalltage« (tr. Outer Space Days) in 2024, and her essay »Niewiedervereinigung« (tr. Never Reunification) will be published in 2026. She has received numerous fellowships, including from Villa Aurora in Los Angeles and the German Literature Fund. Her work frequently engages with East German themes. She also works as a curator, teacher, and editor and is a member of various artistic collectives. She performs as part of the literary girl band No Scribes and serves on the jury for the International Literature Award presented by the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Fürstenberg lives in Berlin.
