Georg Mascolo

born in 1964 in Stadthagen, is a German-Italian journalist. He worked at the news magazine »SPIEGEL« as a correspondent in Washington, head of the capital city studio, and as editor-in-chief from 2008 to 2013. He has been the head of research for NDR, WDR, and the »Süddeutsche Zeitung« since 2014. He was named the political »Journalist of the Year« and his report on the fall of the Berlin Wall was included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme.
