Miedya Mahmoud

born in 1996, has lived in: Dortmund, Hagen, Essen, sometimes in trains. Currently: Bochum. Has been performing slam-poetry and spoken-word since 2016 and made it to the finale of the NRW-Championship that same year. Studies Theatre and Media Studies. In 2017, she took part in the Treffen Junger Autor*innen and gave a reading at the Festspielhaus Berlin. Her works deal with topics such as intersectionality, mental health and POC access to health care systems, toxic masculinity, and the political dimensions of depression. Currently, she works as a publisher for #LYTTER, a poetry magazine that seeks to create literature based on content from the social media platform Twitter.
