Laurie Penny
born in 1986 in London, studied English literature at Oxford and Harvard, and is a regular contributor to »The Guardian«, »New Statesman« and »The Times«. Penny became more widely known for her debut polemic »Meat Market: Female Flesh Under Capitalism« (2011) – a call-to-arms and analysis of how women’s bodies are disempowered and controlled by capitalism and the media. »Bitch Doctrine«, her most recent collection of essays, was published in 2007. Penny currently lives in Great Britain.
