Karin Tidbeck

was born in 1977. Her phantasmagorical, surreal, and highly imaginative fiction, oftentimes written in bilingual versions, simultaneously creates inherent logics and allegories on societal circumstances. In her novel »Amatka« (2017), which originally derived from poetic dream transcripts, a dystopian colonial regime is founded on the existential interrelation between language and matter. Furthermore, Tidbeck is a translator and lecturer in creative writing. She lives in Malmö.
