Helene Hegemann

born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1992, is a German writer. In 2010 she made her début with the novel »Axolotl Roadkill«, which was translated into twenty languages. The film adaptation, which she directed herself, won an award at the Sundance Festival 2017. Her most recent novel is »Bungalow« (2018). Helene Hegemann is also a theater and opera director. She regularly publishes articles in »DIE ZEIT«, »SZ«, and »Vice Magazine«, among others. The author lives in Berlin.
