Helen Oyeyemi is the author of five novels, most recently »White is for Witching« (2009) which tells the story of a labyrinthine haunted house in the fragmented voices of many characters, »Mr. Fox« (2011), a complex reinterpretation of the Bluebeard legend. and »Boy, Snow, Bird« (2014) which can be read as a contemporary variation on »Snow White«.
Oyeyemi has won many awards, including the Somerset Maugham Award (2010) and the Fiction Prize of the Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright Foundation (2012). In 2010 she was a finalist in the Shirley Jackson Award and was shortlisted for the BBC National Short Story Award. She was also included in the list »100 Notable Books of 2011« by the »New York Times Book Review« and was named in 2013 by »Granta Magazine« as one of the twenty best young British authors. She lives in Prague.
