
Giuliana Kiersz

born in 1991 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, writes poetry, plays, and librettos. She has received support from institutions such as the Maxim Gorki Theater, Akademie Schloss Solitude, and London’s Royal Court Theatre. Her work has received multiple awards, including the Germán Rozenmacher Award [2017], the Neue Szenen VII prize [2023] for a chamber opera by Huihui Cheng featuring a libretto by Kiersz – awarded by the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin – and the Todos los tiempos el tiempo Award [2024]. Her texts have been translated into several languages, including English, German, French, Portuguese, and Tsotsil. Giuliana Kiersz lives in Berlin.
