born in 1970 in Gevelsberg, Bonné pursued American and Portuguese studies in Hamburg, Lisbon, and Berkeley. For the last 15 years, she has been translating English books into German, including works by Sara Gran, Richard Flanagan, Amy Sackville, and Michael Cunningham. She won the 2006 and 2009 Hamburg funding prize for literary translation and in 2012 received a grant for the Omi International Residency at Ledig House in New York.
