Biography
born 1949 in Culiacán, Mexico. After his Spanish literature studies, he released his first short stories and plays. In 1999, he published his debut novel, »Un asesino solitario« (»Lone Assassin»). In 2007, he won the Premio Tusquets de Novela for his crime novel »Balas de Plata« (»Silver Bullets«), in which he discusses the influences of the drug economy on Mexican society. Mendoza is professor of literature at Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa.
