Deborah Feldman

born in 1986 in New York, was raised in the ultra-orthodox Hasidic community of Satmar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and studied literature at Sarah Lawrence College. The same day Feldman’s autobiographical literary debut »Unorthodox – The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots« (2012) was published, it made it onto the »New York Times« bestseller list, and sold over a million copies. Feldman and her son live in Berlin.
