Christoph Leisten
was born in Geilenkirchen in 1960. He studied German and philosophy in Bonn. He made his literary début with the collection of poems »entfernte nähe« (2001, t: distant closeness). Since its publication, he has published his work in magazines and anthologies and has produced two new collections, the most recent of which is »der mond vergebens« (2006, t: The moon for nothing), as well as a collection of prose pieces »Marrakesch, Djemaa el Fna« (2005, t: Marrakesh, Djemaa el Fna), which has been translated in Arabic. He is one of the editors of the Frankfurt Literary Magazine »Zeichen & Wunder« Characters & Miracles). Leisten works as a high school teacher and author. He lives in Würselen, near Aachen.
