Melanie Brinkmann

born in 1974, studied biology in Göttingen, London, and Berlin, and conducted her doctoral research on herpesviruses in Hannover. Since 2010 she is heading the research group »Viral Immune Modulation« at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig. From 2012 to 2018, she was assistant professor at the Hannover Medical School. Today, the virologist teaches at the Institute of Genetics at the TU Braunschweig. She is initiator of the »No-Covid« strategy in Germany and advises politicians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
