Anna Schapiro is a visual artist, editor and writer. She was born in Moscow (USSR) and came to Germany in 1992. She studied Fine Arts in Dresden and Jewish Studies in Stockholm, with working residencies including New York, Warsaw and Mexico. She exhibits internationally and teaches at universities and colleges across the German-speaking world. Schapiro was co-curator of the exhibition «Klassenfragen – Kunst und ihre Produktionsbedingungen» (2022, Berlinische Galerie) and is founder and co-editor of the magazine «Jalta – Positionen zur jüdischen Gegenwart». Anna Schapiro lives in Berlin.
