Anja Tuckermann

born in 1961, is a writer, playwright, opera librettist and journalist. For many years Tuckermann worked as a radio editor. Her debut novel »Mooskopf« (1988; tr. Moss-head) has been translated into thirteen languages to date. Tuckermann has won a number of awards, including the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis, the ARD Kurt-Magnus-Preis and Friedrich-Gerstäcker-Preis for three documentary novels on the experiences of the Sinti under the Nazi regime and in post-war Germany.
