Adriano Sofri

born in 1942 in Trieste, is an Italian intellectual, politician and author. A former pioneer of the Lotta Continua leftist movement, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison in 1997 after a controversial trial for instigating the murder of a police commissioner and was released early in 2012. His most recent work is Una variazione di Kafka« (2018), a philological thriller« about the translation of Kafka’s »The Metamorphosis«.
