Alexander Schnickmann is a writer. He grew up in Bergkamen in the Ruhr area. Essays, prose, and poems by him have appeared in newspapers, magazines, and anthologies. In 2023, he was awarded the Leonce-und-Lena-Preis. His debut «requiem» was published in 2024 by Matthes & Seitz Berlin, and his most recent work is the poetry collection «Gestirne», also published there. For his narrative «Fuck Nature, Start Writing», he was awarded the German Prize for Nature Writing in 2026. Schnickmann lives in Berlin.
