Andreas Kossert: Elsas Welt

Panel

Eine Familiengeschichte aus Lodz

In his most personal book to date, Andreas Kossert traces the footsteps of his grandmother Elsa to Lodz. Following her biography, he paints a vivid family portrait spanning from the colonists of the 18th century to everyday life under German occupation in World War II, shaped by terror and annihilation. At the same time, a panorama of Central European history unfolds. With Christopher Clark and Karolina Kuszyk, the author explores the search for belonging and home, here and elsewhere.

In cooperation with Polnisches Institut Berlin.
