Biography
Richard Sennett was born in Chicago in 1943, is a sociologist and teaches at New York University and the London School of Economics and Political Science. His texts often deal with capitalism and its impact on man. In »The Corrosion of Character« (1998), for example, he criticizes the loss of values in the capitalist world of labour, which ultimately results in a society marked by uncertainty and instability.
