Biography
Peter Merseburger, born in 1928 in Zeitz, studied German, history and sociology in Halle (Saale) and Marburg/Lahn. After first of all writing articles for German weekly the »Spiegel«, he presented the television programme »Panorama« from 1967 to 1975. From 1977 he was a correspondent for »ARD« reporting from places like Washington D. C. and London. As a freelance author he is known for his biographies of post-war personalities like Rudolf Augstein (2007). Merseburger lives in Berlin and the South of France.
