Jordi Soler born in 1963 in Mexico as the son of Catalan immigrants, worked for several years as a literary editor in Mexico City, before working in Dublin as Cultural Attaché. He is one of the most important authors writing about the Spanish Civil War from the perspective of third-generation immigrants. In his last book, »La fiesta del oso« (2009; tr. The bear’s festival), Soler uncovers concealed and supressed memories with great narrative ability. He currently lives in Barcelona with his family.
