Ian Buruma

Ian Buruma was born in The Hague in 1951. He studied Chinese literature and Japanese film in Tokyo and works as journalist, author and university lecturer. His articles have appeared in »The New York Review of Books«, »The Times Literary Supplement« and the »Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung«. Buruma currently teaches at Bard College in New York and has recently published two books about the conflict between the Western and Islamic worlds.
