Eirik Ingebrigtsen was born in Ås in 1975. He attended the Hordaland writers’ academy, as well as studying literary composition at Gothenburg University and theatre and media studies at the University of Bergen. His first novel, »Vesen« (t: Creature) was published in 2001. This was followed by » Snø dempar lyd, tre lukkar inne« (2003; t: Snow subdues sound, wood encloses) and the critically acclaimed novel »Vendrakovic« (2006). He has held writing courses for school pupils of all ages and currently works at the Norwegian Writers’ Centre. Eirik Ingebrigtsen’s most recent work is a Nynorsk adaptation of the opera musical »Which Witch«, which premiered in August 2007.
