In 2022, Mohammed Alnaas received the prestigious International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF), also known as the Arabic Booker, for his novel »Khobz ’ala tawila al-khal Milad« [tr: Bread on Uncle Milad’s Table]. The work reflects a variety of personal experiences skillfully brought together through a compelling narrative. As a novel, it is also a profound critique of prevailing notions of masculinity and femininity and the social implications of the division of labor.
