Mickaël Brun-Arnaud: Erinnerungen des Waldes

Visual and acoustic design workshop / Meet and Greet with Mickaël Brun-Arnaud

Archibald The Fox is the proud owner of his own bookstore, located in an old oak tree in the village forest of Schönrinde. One day, he is visited by his friend Ferdinand The Mole, who is completely con-fused and looking for his missing wife. He hopes to find answers to all his questions in his autobiography, but unfortunately Archibald has already sold it. And so the two embark on an exciting adventure – a poetic tale that tells of friendship, forgetting and remembering.

What happens during the workshop?

Together with the students, themes of the book are elaborated using various artistic techniques and find individual two- and three-dimensional, sensual forms.

Illustration and collage
The students create postcards using different techniques to capture their memories. They also decorate their personal treasure chest to keep the postcards in.

Media and performance
Together they embark on a sonic search for special moments and their effects. This involves creating individual sound sculptures and embarking on an acoustic journey through different times.

Sculpture
Each participant chooses a scene or event from the book and can shape it into a sculptural work using various materials. A story is vividly told.

The event is in German.
Led by Christine Haase, Alba Martinez-Arenas and Zora Jankovic.
Recommended for grades 4 to 6.
