The American writer Toni Morrison [1931–2019], one of the most important representatives of African-American literature, fought racism with her books and was the first black woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993. Based on Morrison’s essay collection »The Source of Self-Regard«, the American writer Tayari Jones [*1970] [via live stream] will talk about Morrison’s life and work, black identity, and racism in the USA.
