Miklós Mészöly [19212001] is considered to be the »father of Hungarian contemporary literature«, which has found global recognition in Péter Nádas, Péter Esterházy, Imre Kertész and László Krasznahorkai. In 2021, on the occasion of Mészöly’s 100th birthday, Edition Thanhäuser will publish the volume »Spurensicherung« with stories and essays by the author previously unpublished in German. Péter Nádas, for whom Mészöly was a teacher and friend, talks about his legacy.
