Landpartie: Alaska Reading and Birdwatching in Brandenburg. With Rebecca Rukeyser, Nell Zink und dem NABU

Together with friends, the writer Lola Randl has transformed a train station in Brandenburg into a cultural venue. The ilb will be there for a reading and bird-watching stroll for one afternoon.

There is a direct connection from Gesundbrunnen station to Wilmersdorf (b. Angermünde). To participate in the birding walk and reading, we recommend arriving at 3:41 p.m. Those wishing to come for the reading only should arrive at 5:41 p.m.

Attention: change of event:

Due to construction work/rail replacement traffic on the route from Berlin-Gesundbrunnen to Angermünde, the event must unfortunately be moved at short notice from Wilmersdorf (b. Angermünde) to the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. Purchased tickets remain valid.

4:00 pm, Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Seitenbühne

Rebecca Rukeyser’s »The Seaplane on Final Approach« is about a young woman who finds herself in a lodge in Alaska for a temporary job. Away from the usual tourist attractions, she seeks new experiences. »An age-old story – puppy love meets jaded lust to dance their death spiral inside a young woman’s head-told with the shameless authenticity of 2022. I ate it up,« says Nell Zink. She talks with Rukeyser about her debut novel.

This will be followed by a bird walk around the Haus der Berliner Festspiele – together with Ernst Paul Dörfler, ecologist and author of »Nestwärme. Was wir von Vögeln lernen können« and the writers and amateur ornithologists Rebecca Rukeyser and Nell Zink. Meeting point: 17:30 at the entrance to the Seitenbühne.

Moderation: Nell Zink
Language: English, German
Language bird walk: German
