Biography
born in 1982 in Jinan, China is the author of five novels and three short story collections. Her novel »Cocoon«, winner of the Best Asian Novel of the Prix Transfuge, was also shortlisted for the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation and named one of The New Yorker’s Best Books of 2022.Her latest novel, »Women, Seated« [tr. Jeremy Tiang] will be her first translated into German [»Schwanentage«, Ü. Karin Betz]. Zhang lives in Beijing and teaches literature and creative writing at Renmin University.
