born 1989 in Kharkiv in Ukraine is a poet, writer, and educator. Breyger immigrated to Germany with his family in 1999, where he studied cultural journalism, creative writing, and curatorial studies. He has published several collections of poetry, most recently »Frieden ohne Krieg« [tr. Peace without War], for which he received the manuskripte-Preis des Landes Steiermark, the Mondseer Lyrikrpeis, the Klopstock-Preis, the Christine Lavant Preis, the Reinhard Priessnitz Preis and the Literaturpreis der deutschen Wirtschaft etc. Breyger teaches as a senior lecturer in language arts at the University for Contemporary Arts in Vienna and since 2021 has held guest professorships at the University of Hildesheim and the German Literary Institute Leipzig. His latest poetry collection, »hallo niemand« [tr. Hello Nobody], is forthcoming from Suhrkamp in 2026. He lives in Vienna.
